CBSE changed the exam format of 11th, 12th, no change in 9th, 10th class.

CBSE latest updates on changes According to CBSE officials, the percentage of multiple choice questions (MCQ), case-based questions, source-based integrated questions or concept application questions has been increased from 40 to 5.

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced changes in the exam format of classes 11th and 12th. These changes will be applicable from the coming session 2024-25. CBSE has said that under the exam format of these classes, CBSE will focus on concept application questions instead of long-winded answers. The main reason for this is to find out how much the students are able to understand these concepts in real life.

According to CBSE officials, the percentage of multiple choice questions (MCQ), case-based questions, source-based integrated questions or concept application questions has been increased from 40 to 50 percent. Whereas the percentage of other questions including short and long answers has been reduced from 40 to 30 percent. It is expected that this step will bring a change in the way students study and they will move away from rote memorization towards greater understanding of the concepts.

CBSE Director (Academic) Joseph Emmanuel said, as per the National Education Policy, 2020, the Board has taken several steps towards the implementation of efficiency-based learning in schools, including efficiency-based assessment and creation of exemplary resources for teachers and students. Development is involved.

He said that the Board is mainly focusing on creating an educational system whose objective is to develop the creative thinking of the students by emphasizing on learning instead of rote learning, so that they can deal with the challenges of the 21st century. He said that no change has been made in the examination format of classes 9th and 10th.
