Taking a major step, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to emphasize Competency Based Education. The board has made changes in the examination and assessment process for the next academic session (2021-22). The board says that keeping in mind the new education policy, changes are being made in the annual and board exam papers of class IX to XII. Now students will be asked more merit based questions. Also, such questions will be given preference, which are related to real life.

No change in this case

According to the news published in our collaborative website DNA, CBSE says that this step will develop creative thinking in the students. According to the board, there will be 20 percent Competency Based Questions and 20 percent Objective Type Questions for class 11th and 12th (CBSE Board Exam 2021). While 60 per cent will be short and long answer questions. However, there has been no change in the marks and duration of the examination as before.

Sample Papers will be released soon

The board says that merit-based questions can be in the form of multiple choice questions, case-based questions, source-based integrated questions or any other form. CBSE has asked schools (schools) to prepare the students for this change. The board will also issue sample question paper soon, so that students can understand what the new changes will affect them.
