CBSE, ICSE latest news: The central Board of Secondary Education on Wednesday (April 14) decided to cancel CBSE class 10 exam 2021 and postpone CBSE class 12 exam 2021 in the view of spiraling Covid 19 cases. The decision regarding the CBSE exams 2021 came after Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a high-level meeting to discuss about the same.  As the Board announced this decision, it also left students with some questions. For CBSE class 10 students, they would want to know how they will be promoted and what evaluation criteria will be laid down by board to allot them marks. How CBSE Class 10 students will be promoted?

Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishan, who shared the information about cancellation and postponement of CBSE class 10, 12 exams 2021 also revealed the pattern that would be adopted to promote these students. Talking about CBSE Class 10 students’ promotion criteria, the Union Education Minister said that they will be promoted based on internal assessment.  Pokhriyal said CBSE class 10 students will be promoted on the basis of an objective criterion to be developed by CBSE. “Any candidate who is not satisfied with the marks allocated to him/her on this basis will be given an opportunity to sit in an exam as and when the conditions are conducive to hold the exams,” tweeted the education minister.  Earlier, the CBSE had adopted similar pattern last year. Amid increasing cases of Covid 19 cases, the board had cancelled remaining exams in the middle of the exam schedule. Students who appeared for not more than two exams were marked on the average of the highest-scoring subject, and those who appeared for three or more than three were marked on the basis of the highest marks obtained in any three subjects. Their marks were also calculated based on the internal assessment and practicals.

CBSE class 12 exams 2021 new dates

As CBSE class 12 exam 2021 has been postponed, Union education minister Ramesh Pokhriyal said fresh dates will be announced after June 1, following a review of the Covid-19 situation.
