New Delhi: Discussions are going on between the Ministry of Education and the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) regarding board examinations twice a year. Sources in the ministry say that detailed proposals have been sought from CBSE regarding board examinations twice. CBSE is working on this issue. Something can be decided only after the board’s proposal comes out. After the board proposal, there will be a meeting between the ministry and CBSE officials, in which every point will be discussed. Sources also say that the timing of board exams twice a year is a big question, because until the results of the first board exam are out, the second board exam cannot be held?

Preparation to change the pattern of board exam

Preparations will be made to change the pattern of board exams on the basis of the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) prepared for school education. NCF has recommended that students will have the option to appear for board exams twice a year and can choose the best score from both the exams. Ministry sources say that it is very important to see what will be the window for the second board exam. Currently, board exams start from 15th February and continue till the beginning of April. Meanwhile, JEE Main exam for engineering is held at the end of January. Then board exams start.

The board’s schedule will be decided on this basis

After the board exam, JEE Main is the second phase. Then in the first week of May, the medical entrance examination is NEET-UG and from 15-31 May, CUET-UG is held. Whereas in June-July, admissions take place in graduation courses in other universities including Delhi University. Ministry sources say that amidst all this, the window for the second board exam will have to be decided. The schedule of the second board exam will be decided only after the results of the first board are declared.

Big question regarding timing

CBSE is preparing a proposal in this regard, in which suggestions will also be given regarding the timing of the first and second board exams. The Ministry has asked CBSE to prepare a proposal after considering every aspect regarding the board exams twice and only then a decision will be taken. It is important to tell students and parents about the entire pattern in advance. Former ISRO chief K. The NCF prepared by the committee headed by Kasturirangan had recommended conducting board exams twice a year.
