CBSE New Rule: CBSE has allowed the concerned schools to create Balvatika. For this, branch schools will be created for classes up to class 5. So that the shortage of space can be overcome. This rule will come into effect from 2026-27. Apart from this, schools should be affiliated to the National School Board
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has made new rules to improve education. Under which the schools related to the board have been approved to make “branch schools” for classes from Balvatika to class 5. The board believes that this will overcome the problem of lack of space. In such a situation, now under Branch School School-2025, CBSE related schools can apply to make branch schools like main schools, from the academic session 2026-27.
CBSE Chairperson Rahul Singh says that this decision has been taken to overcome the shortage of land and space to run Balvatika. Let us tell you that Balvatika is a preschool. It has been created for school education under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Schools up to class 5 will run from Bal Vatika
These new rules are for those schools which are facing the problem of space to run Balvatika classes. This problem is especially the most in urban areas. Therefore, at present, CBSE-affiliated schools will be allowed to run branch schools from Balvatika to Class 5. According to the CBSE circular, schools related to CBSE board will have classes from class 6 to 12. At the same time, classes from Balvatika to Class 5 will run in branch schools. Apart from this, schools should be affiliated to the National School Board. At the same time, Kendriya Vidyalayas run by the Central Government have started Balvatika for preschool education in the academic session 2023-24. In which classes will be run for three hours daily.
Main schools will make branch schools
According to the new circular, main schools will be allowed to open a branch school with the same name, affiliation number and under the same management. At the same time, it has also been said in the circular that both the schools will have a common website. In which there will be a section for branch schools. At present, NEP 2020 has not been implemented in Delhi yet. The reason for this is that most urban schools are facing space problems.
