CBSE released new syllabus for class 9th to 12th, will be implemented in April, download it like this

CBSE has released the syllabus for class 9th-12th. Schools have also been given instructions related to this. Students will be taught and exams will be conducted as per this.

CBSE Syllabus 2025-26: Big news has come out for the students of class 9th to 12th. The Central Board of Secondary Education has released the new syllabus of secondary and senior schools for the session 2025-26. In the interest of the students, CBSE has revised the assessment and course structure of class 10th and 12th this year. The new syllabus is available on the official website https://www.cbse.gov.in/.

CBSE has finalized the syllabus and it is available for implementation. The syllabus will come into effect from April 1. In this regard, the board has issued a notice to all the schools. Instructions have also been given to strictly follow the guidelines given in the initial pages of the syllabus. Students will be taught according to this. This includes comprehensive guidelines on academic material for classes 9th to 11th, syllabus for examinations, learning outcomes and assessment framework.

CBSE gave these instructions to schools

The board has advised schools to implement relevant and flexible teaching methods as per the recommendations made in the National Curriculum Framework 2023 to make effective use of the curriculum. It emphasizes project-based learning, inquiry-driven approach and technology-enabled education to make learning engaging and meaningful, as per the need. Schools have also been advised to share the guidelines with all students and teachers.

Features of CBSE 10th-12th Syllabus

  • Class 10th exam will be held twice a year. Students will get an opportunity to improve their marks. However, 12th board exam will be held only once.
  • Experiential learning, project based assignments and technology enabled education have been integrated.
  • More emphasis has been given on competency based and analytical questions.
  • The re-evaluation process has been improved. More transparency and fairness will be ensured than before.
  • The syllabus of class 10th and 12th will be based on 9 point grading system. Evaluation will be done using this.
  • The passing marks for both the classes will be 33%.
  • In class 9th-10th, students will be able to choose only one skill subject in Computer Application, IT or AI.
  • 4 new skill elective subjects have been introduced for class 11th-12th. These include Land Transport Associate, Electronics and Hardware, Design Thinking and Innovation and Physical Activity Instructor.
  • Class 10th will have compulsory subjects (Maths, Social Science, Science), skill subjects and one optional subject. Class 12th exam pattern will include 5 compulsory subjects, 1 optional subject and internal assessment.

How to download the syllabus

  • First of all go to the official website www.cbse.gov.in.
  • Choose the option of academic website.
  • Click on the syllabus link in the “Academic” section.
  • A PDF of the notice will open on the screen. Click on the syllabus link in it.
  • Click on the option of class 9-10 or class 11-12.
  • The syllabus page will open. Check it carefully.
  • You can take a printout of the syllabus for future reference.
