CBSE is going to organize a reading challenge. A notice has also been issued in this regard. The main objective of this program is to enhance the skills of reading and understanding with accuracy among the students.
CBSE Reading Challenge: The Central Board of Secondary Education has announced the Reading Challenge. In which students of all CBSE affiliated schools can participate. A circular has also been issued to the heads of schools in this regard. The schedule of the program has also been released. The registration process will start from August 1, 2024. The board has started this to increase the interest of studies among the students and their academic-personal development.
Students will get these benefits from Reading Challenge
The main objective of the Reading Challenge is to enhance the skills of reading and understanding with accuracy among the students. So that they are able to acquire information and create meaning by connecting the text to previous knowledge. Can reflect and evaluate the text. Also, can draw logical conclusions by interpreting the information.
The event will be held in two phases
The program will be held in two phases between August and September. Students from class 6th to 10th will be able to participate in it. The first phase will be held in offline mode in the school itself, for which schools can register by visiting https://cbseacademic.nic.in/ or cbse.gov.in. For the second phase, schools can register 2-2 students from class 6 to 10. The winners of the second phase will be announced on the official website of CBSE. Participants will be provided online certificates.
The program will be organized in two categories
The reading challenge will be organized in two categories. The first category will include students from class 6 to 7. The second category will include students from class 8 to 10. The competition will be held in both Hindi and English modes.
Important Dates
August 1 to August 25 – Schools can register for the Reading Challenge.
August 28 – Question papers with scoring criteria will be available on the portal for registered schools to download.
September 2 to September 17 – Registration for the second phase begins
September 24 to September 27 – Computer-based Reading Challenge organized
