New Delhi. Very soon, LPG connection will be installed in every house of the country. After almost 100 percent LPG penetration across the country, it is now planned to cover every area of every city under the Gas Distribution (CGD) coverage. The Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) will come up with the 11th round of CGD bidding within the next six months, covering 300 districts. It is expected to have an estimated investment of about 1.2 lakh crore rupees. According to the source, an investment of about 400 crore rupees can be made in each district.
More than 300 districts will be covered
According to the money control news, before the eleventh round of the scheme, 44 geographical areas (GA) were to be covered in 120 districts. Money control quoted sources as saying that work is now being done on this scheme with a new proposal, which will cover the entire country at once. This would mean that there would be 300 plus districts. In this round, the reach of the CGD network of bidding will increase by 100 percent. After the ninth and tenth rounds of bidding, CGD coverage in the country was extended to 406 districts. Another 335 districts are likely to be included in the next round. Explain that by this step, the share of natural gas in the energy sector is expected to be 6.3 percent to 15 percent by the year 2030.
PNG and CNG will be supplied
India has drawn up plans to expand its natural gas grid to 34,500 km by adding another 17,000 km of other gas pipeline. In the next round, covering the entire country under CGD means that soon after the operator pipeline network becomes operational the rest of the geographical area will be able to start PNG and CNG immediately.
