To reduce this pressure, the Railways has run 250 special trains. The Railway Minister said that these special trains will make more than 2 thousand extra trips in the festive season.
New Delhi. The festival of Diwali is over and now the preparations for Chhath Pura are in full swing. Lakhs of people living in Bihar and Eastern Uttar Pradesh are returning to their homes from every corner of the country. The arrival of this festival immediately after Diwali has increased the crowd in the vehicles. The biggest impact of this is on the passengers returning to Bihar. To provide relief to the passengers, the Railways has run 250 special trains.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has told that the central government is running more than 250 special trains on the occasion of Chhath Puja. He said, 1.4 lakh berths have been provided to the people returning home for Chhath Puja. We will leave no stone unturned in the preparations and whatever necessary steps will be taken in future also. Earlier, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday appealed to the central government to run special trains on the occasion of Chhath Puja. In an appeal to the Railway Ministry, he had said that lakhs of people are returning to their homes stable on the festival and special trains should be run for their convenience.
According to the Railways, this year 2,561 trips of 211 special trains will be made to control the crowd till Chhath Puja. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav also congratulated everyone on this occasion. He said that I wish everyone a happy Chhath Puja. Special trains run on Diwali have also been extended for Chhath Puja. The Union Minister said, a total of 36,59,000 extra berths were provided to the passengers during the festive season and special trains for Diwali, Chhath Puja would make a total of 2,614 trips.

Earlier, the Railways had tweeted that 32 special trains have been run for the convenience of the passengers in the festive season. They are being passed through many major railway stations of the country. The main routes of special trains have been kept as Darbhanga, Azamgarh, Saharsa, Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, Ferozepur, Patna, Katihar and Amritsar.
Worship will start from tomorrow
Chhath Puja is considered to be the most important festival of Bihar and Eastern UP. The four-day long festival culminates with Nahay-Khay, where Arghya is offered to the rising sun. Chhath Puja will start from 28th October and will end on 31st October. This festival is completely dedicated to Lord Surya, as it is believed that life on earth is due to the sun.
