A passenger train collided with railway maintenance personnel on Friday in Gansu province, located in the northwestern part of China. At least nine people died in this accident. It has been told that this accident happened at 5.19 am in Jinchang city. State media Daily China reported that nine railway personnel died in this accident. At present, the relief and rescue work is going on.
Local officials said that this train was going from Urumqi to Hangzhou. But at 5.25 am, it collided with railway workers in Jinjang city. Medical and emergency teams have been deployed for relief and rescue operations. On the other hand, after this accident, people have started raising questions on social media as to how this accident happened. A user on Weibo wrote, “If the employees were doing maintenance work, then the train driver should have known about it.” How did such an accident happen?
50 people killed in an accident in Taiwan
Prior to this, there was a horrific train accident in Taiwan in April, when a train full of passengers derailed inside the tunnel. Around 50 people died in this accident. At the same time, dozens of people were injured in this accident. There were 490 passengers on the train at the time of the accident. This train was going towards Taitung, but suddenly it derailed (Train Derailed). Then the train collided with the wall inside the tunnel itself. Taiwan’s Eastern Railway Line is very famous among tourists. A large number of people come to visit here. Accidents happened before
Earlier in October 2018, there was a train accident in Taiwan, when an express train derailed on the northwest coast. In which 18 people were killed and about 200 people were injured (Train Accidents in Taiwan). At the same time, in the year 1991, 30 people were killed in a train collision in western Taiwan. Also 112 people were injured. It is considered the deadliest train accident in Taiwan.
