Alternative evidence for the death claim
If an insured dies in a hospital, then the LIC has approved permission for alternate proofs for his verification. That is, LIC will accept other proofs instead of Municipal Death Certificates. The type of proof LIC will approve includes death certificate, discharge summary / death summary issued by the government / ESI (employees’ state insurance) / Armed Forces / Corporate Hospitals and LIC Class-1 officer or development officer, including death. The time and date should be clearly written.

To claim the insurance money, along with the death proof, the cremation certificate or authentic receipt issued by the concerned authority will also have to be submitted.
