CM Atishi Oath: Atishi took oath as CM, became the third woman Chief Minister of the capital

Gopal Rai, Kailash Gehlot, Saurabh Bhardwaj, Imran Hussain and Sultanpur Majra MLA Mukesh Ahlawat also joined the new cabinet announced by AAP. Rai, Gehlot, Bhardwaj and Hussain are also ministers in the outgoing government led by Arvind Kejriwal

AAP leader Atishi took oath as the 8th Chief Minister of Delhi at Raj Bhavan. LG VK Saxena administered the oath of office and secrecy to her on Saturday. With this, Atishi became the third woman Chief Minister of the capital and she will also be the youngest Chief Minister. With this, AAP formed the government in Delhi for the fourth consecutive time.

The Lieutenant Governor administered the oath of ministership to party leaders Saurabh Bhardwaj, Gopal Rai, Kailash Gehlot, Imran Hussain and Mukesh Ahlawat. Mukesh Ahlawat, a first-time MLA from Sultanpur Mazra, is a new face in the Atishi cabinet.

Atishi will be the 17th woman Chief Minister of the country

Gopal Rai, Kailash Gehlot, Saurabh Bhardwaj, Imran Hussain and Sultanpur Mazra MLA Mukesh Ahlawat also attended the new cabinet announced by AAP. Rai, Gehlot, Bhardwaj and Hussain are also ministers in the outgoing government led by Arvind Kejriwal.

Aatishi will be the 17th woman Chief Minister of the country. During this, AAP leader Atishi’s parents Tripta Wahi and Vijay Singh were also present at the Raj Niwas.

Officials of the Lieutenant Governor’s Office had said on Friday evening that President Draupadi Murmu has appointed Atishi as the Chief Minister of Delhi from the date of swearing-in and has also accepted the resignation of Arvind Kejriwal.

He said that the President has also approved the appointment of five ministers.

The swearing-in ceremony took place with simplicity

According to an AAP leader, the swearing-in ceremony took place with simplicity, as the atmosphere in the party is not very good due to Kejriwal’s resignation and due to the delay in getting approvals, very little time has been given for preparations.

Atishi was elected the leader of the party’s legislative party earlier this week after AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal resigned as chief minister. Kejriwal and former deputy chief minister and party leader Manish Sisodia were also present at the swearing-in ceremony.

Atishi is the third woman chief minister of Delhi after Congress’ Sheila Dixit and Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Sushma Swaraj.
