Corona Vaccination: Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal requested the Central Government to allow vaccination to all the needy instead of select beneficiaries.
Coronavirus outbreak in the national capital Delhi is once again spreading rapidly. Keeping this in mind, the state’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal ordered vaccination in all government hospitals of Delhi from 9 am to 9 pm, which has started from Monday. Hospital officials say they have made arrangements including the deployment of additional staff to run the corona vaccination drive for 12 hours every day.
CM Kejriwal had said on Thursday that instead of applying 30,000 to 40,000 vaccines at present, the government will apply vaccines to 1.25 lakh beneficiaries every day. CM directed to double the vaccination centers and vaccinate till 9 pm instead of 5 pm. Hospital officials have also been instructed to increase the number of vaccination sites to at least six. Each of these sites will have two vaccinators, for which additional health workers will be deployed.
Dr. Suresh Kumar, Medical Director of LKJP Hospital, said that we were applying 200 vaccines at our two vaccine sites every day, although a total of 500 people were being vaccinated every day from a site that worked at night. Now arrangements have been made to start six vaccination sites on behalf of the hospital. These sites will be operational from morning to evening, one site will be operational 24 hours.
Hospitals arranged to increase vaccination site
Dr. BL Sherwal, Medical Director of Rajiv Gandhi Super Specialty Hospital said that all arrangements have been made to increase both the time of drive and the number of vaccinations sites. For some arrangements, the hospital administration has also come forward to help the district administration. We will start vaccinations at six sites from 9 am to 9 pm from Monday. Additional deployment of staff is to be done. The number of indoor patients is less at this time. Because of this we are able to manage.
‘Rules will be strictly enforced to apply masks’
Kejriwal requested the central government to allow vaccination to all the needy instead of select beneficiaries, and said that if the conditions of vaccination are relaxed and vaccine supply is ensured, then the entire population in Delhi will be given to the entire population in three months. Will be able to be vaccinated. He also appealed to the Center to decentralize the vaccination process so that the states can vaccinate at war level. There was some laxity in the reduction of cases, but now steps like wearing masks will be strictly implemented. At present, vaccines are being given to health workers, personnel posted on the fore front, people above 60 years of age and 45 to 60 years old people suffering from various diseases.
