In the last 24 hours, 53 thousand 480 new cases came, 41 thousand 280 patients were cured and 354 died. This death toll is the highest in the last 104 days. Earlier, on December 16, 356 people died. In the last 24 hours, 78.56% (44,157 cases) of the total infected cases in the country were found in Maharashtra, Punjab, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Gujarat. These 6 states account for 79% of the total active cases in the country. Currently, there are 4.25 lakh people in these states who are undergoing treatment.
According to the Ministry of Health, so far about 1.21 crore people in the country have been affected by this epidemic. About 1.14 crore have been cured. 1.62 lakhs have lost their lives, 5.49 lakhs are undergoing treatment.

Maharashtra: 27,918 new patients were found here on Tuesday. 23,820 recovered, while 139 died. A decline in new cases is being recorded for the last two days. Earlier, 40,414 people were found positive on Sunday and 31,643 on Monday. So far 27.73 lakh people have been affected by this epidemic in the state. Of these, 23.77 lakh have been cured, while 54,422 have died. Currently, 3.40 lakh people are being treated here.
Gujarat: 2,220 new corona patients were found here on Tuesday. 1,988 patients recovered, while 10 died. So far, 3.05 lakh people have been affected by this epidemic in the state. Of these, 2.88 lakh have been cured, while 4,510 patients have died and currently 12,263 people are undergoing treatment.
Punjab: 2,188 new patients were found here on Tuesday. 2,536 recovered, while 64 died. So far 2.36 lakh people have been affected by this epidemic in the state. Of these, 2.06 lakh have been cured, while 6,813 have died. Currently 23,731 people are under treatment.
Delhi: 992 new cases came here on Tuesday. 1,591 patients recovered and 4 infected died. For the past one week, more than 1,000 cases were coming here. So far, 6.60 lakh people have been affected by this epidemic, 6.42 lakh have been cured and 11,016 have lost their lives. Currently 7,429 are undergoing treatment.
Rajasthan: 665 infected were identified here in 24 hours. 304 patients recovered. So far, 3.32 lakh patients have been affected by this epidemic in the state. Of these, 3.21 lakh have been cured, while 2,813 have lost their lives. Presently 8155 patients are under treatment.
How many variants have been found in the country so far?
So far, cases of 807 UK variants, 47 South African variants and 1 Brazilian variant have been found in India. According to the Health Ministry, so far, active cases of new variants are the highest in 10 districts across the country. These include Pune, Mumbai, Nagpur, Thane, Nashik, Aurangabad, Bengaluru, Nanded, Delhi and Ahmednagar.
What is the positivity rate?
Talking about the weekly positivity rate, the figure is 5.65% in the country. At the same time, Maharashtra has an average of 23%, Punjab’s 8.82%, Chhattisgarh’s 8%, Madhya Pradesh’s 7.82%, Tamil Nadu’s 2.50%, Karnataka’s 2.45%, Gujarat’s 2.2% and Delhi’s Weekly Positivity Rate 2.04%.
Third phase of vaccination from 1 April
Vaccine will be given to all people above 45 years of age from April 1, amid increasing cases of corona. The central government announced this a week ago. However, it was officially informed on Tuesday. Under this, people will be able to register on the CoWIN portal after April 1, ie, Thursday to 3 pm to take the vaccine. For this, they have to go to the portal and complete the registration process. After this, they will be able to take the vaccine in any government or private hospital.
12.82 million people infected so far
So far, 12.82 crore people have been caught in the infection worldwide. Of these, 10.34 crore people have been cured, while 28.03 lakh patients died. There are 2.19 crore patients who are undergoing treatment. Of these, 94,668 patients are in critical condition, while 2.18 crore patients have mild symptoms of corona.
