Maharashtra government has decided to increase the strictness of lockdown in the state till June 15. Apart from this, it also said that the decision to give this strict relief will be made on the basis of Covid-19 positivity rate and availability of oxygen beds.
Covid-19 Updates: In the second wave of Corona epidemic, daily cases are decreasing but the situation is not normal yet. On Sunday, the Maharashtra government has decided to increase the strictness of lockdown in the state till June 15. Apart from this, it also said that the decision to give this strict relief will be made on the basis of Covid-19 positivity rate and availability of oxygen beds. Addressing the people of the state through social media, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said that the daily cases of corona virus are declining but it is still close to last year’s peak. In this case, it is being decided to increase the strictness till June 15. He said that he is reviewing the condition of district wise corona virus and in districts where cases are increasing, strictness will be done.
According to the decision of the state government, in the areas of municipality corporations or districts, corona’s positivity rate is less than 10% and where the availability of acupide oxygen beds will be less than 40%, all the establishments / shops will be available from 7 am to 11 am. It will be approved to remain open from 7 am to 2 pm.
Districts and corporations which have more than 20 percent positivity rate and more than 75 percent oxygen beds, the borders of the districts will remain closed and no person will be able to leave or enter that district. However, this rule will be exempt for the death of a person in the family, for medical reasons or emergency services or in such situations.
Maharashtra government took these decisions
- According to the Maharashtra government’s decision, according to the 2011 census, municipal corporations with a population of more than 1 million would be considered as independent administrative units to stop the spread of corona. Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai, Kalyan-Dombivali, Vasish Virar, Pune, Pimprichinchwad, Nagpur, Aurangabad and Nashik corporations will be treated as administrative units in the state.
- The decision to open shops and establishments other than essential services will be taken by the Local Disaster Management Authority (LDMA), but their timings will remain the same as for other shops and establishments. Apart from this, all the shops will be closed on Saturday and Sunday.
- The state government has approved to distribute non-essential goods and services through the e-commerce system, but after 3 pm any movement other than emergency related to medical services and medical will be restricted.
- Other types of offices other than epidemic-related services will open with an attendance of 25 per cent of the personnel, although the heads of a department may seek approval from the Disaster Management Authority for more than 25 per cent attendance.
- Shops will remain open till 2 pm for all types of agricultural work and equipment related services. Due to the monsoon and sowing period, the Local Disaster Management Authority can increase the timings of the local authority shops for goods and services related to agriculture and can also approve opening on Saturday and Sunday.
