Coronavirus infection can now be easily checked at home. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has approved the home testing kit on Wednesday. This is a rapid antigen test (RAT) kit, named CoviSelf. Using this kit, you will be able to test the corona yourself.
This kit has been made by Pune-based Mylab Discovery Solutions Ltd (Mylab Discovery Solutions), which will be used only for nose-to-swab samples. Let’s know how to use it and what things have to be kept in mind while testing …
Only such people should use the kit
This test kit should be used at home only by people who have symptoms of Kovid-19 or have come in direct contact with an infected person.
Will have to download Coviself app
Manual guidelines for home testing have to be followed. For this, you must first download the CoviSelf mobile app from Google Play Store or Apple Store. Through this app you will get positive or negative report.
After testing, the picture of the test strip will have to be drawn
That is, all the people who are investigating will have to take a picture of the test strip (Strip) after the testing process is completed, in which the app has been downloaded and registered. Then the data of the mobile phone will be stored directly on the testing portal of ICMR.
What to do if the corona report is positive?
Those whose positive report will come through this test will be considered positive and there will be no need for any test again. According to the guideline, people who will be positive will have to stay in home isolation and follow the ICMR guidelines.
What to do if the report comes negative despite having symptoms?
At the same time, the patients whose symptoms will come negative, will need to undergo RTPCR test. However, during this time the identity of the people will not be made public. All Rapid Antigen Negative Symptomatic people will be considered as Suspended Covid Case and will have to remain in Home Isolation till the result of RTPCR test is reached.
Test kit thrown in biohazard bag
Information on all possible results of the test kit is provided on the manual. After use under company guidelines, throw all the items of the test kit in a biohazard bag (present in the kit) and discard.
Do not keep the testing kit in the fridge without forgetting it
Keep in mind that no items of the testing kit are to be kept in the refrigerator. Nor should the kit be exposed to direct sunlight. Use a clean place in the house to check. And avoid testing through this kit again and again.
