New Delhi: On Diwali night in Delhi, some youths burst firecrackers despite the ban and that too from a moving car. On this the police registered a case and the accused were arrested and sent to jail. On the night of Diwali, some youths had driven them by placing sky shots on the trunk of a moving car. Its video went viral. Police have arrested three accused youths.

Police have registered a case at DLF Phase-3 police station in Delhi. All three youths have been arrested from Sikanderpur. The names of the accused are Nakul, Jatin and Krishna.

The Delhi Police had registered 16 cases in connection with the alleged bursting of firecrackers in the city during Diwali and the four days before it. The police had registered 58 cases of selling crackers and seized a total of 2,834.13 kg of crackers.


The police had seized 17,357.13 kg of firecrackers in Delhi from October 1 to October 24. The police had registered 23 cases of bursting of firecrackers in the same period.

Firecrackers were burst in various areas of the national capital on the day of Diwali. On the night of Diwali, people burst loud crackers in large numbers and flouted the ban imposed by the Delhi government.

Ahead of Diwali, Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai had said that bursting of crackers in the national capital on Diwali could lead to a jail term of up to six months and a fine of Rs 200.
