These new rules will come into effect from 15 November 2024. Let us tell you that before this, some changes have been made in the credit card rules by SBI Card as well.
1% extra charge on utility bill payment
Paying utility bills with ICICI Bank credit card will now cost you more. The bank has limited the payment of utility bills and insurance premium with some credit cards to Rs 40,000. For premium cards, this limit is up to Rs 80,000. If you pay more than this, you will have to pay an additional charge of 1 percent.
Limit of expenses on grocery and fuel has also been fixed
Talking about spending on groceries, entry level cardholders can spend up to Rs 20,000 from it, while shopping up to Rs 40,000 per month can be done on premium cards. At the same time, now you will be able to spend only up to Rs 50,000 on fuel with most of the ICICI Bank cards. However, this limit is up to Rs 1 lakh on Emeralde Mastercard Metal Credit Card.
1% charge will also be levied on these transactions
ICICI Bank has announced that a transaction fee of 1 per cent will also be charged on some transactions. If you make any education payment through a third party platform, you will have to pay an additional charge of 1 per cent.
Getting annual fee waived is no longer easy
Not only this, now rental payments, government transactions and educational expenses will not be counted in the calculation of waiving annual fees. However, the limit of expenditure made in the last year for waiving annual fees for Emeralde, Emeralde Visa and Emeralde Private card holders has been reduced from Rs 12 lakh to Rs 10 lakh.
Late payment charge also increased
The bank has also made some changes in the fee structure. Now a fee of Rs 199 will be charged on the supplementary card. Late payment charges have also been increased from Rs 100 to Rs 500. On the other hand, if the outstanding amount is more than Rs 50 thousand, then you will have to pay a late fee of up to Rs 1300. The finance charges on the outstanding credit card balance will remain 3.75 per cent monthly and 45 per cent annually, no change has been made in these.
Airport lounge access became expensive
Some changes have also been made by the bank in the feature of complimentary airport lounge access. Now to avail this, it has become necessary to spend at least Rs 75 thousand through credit card in the last year, otherwise this facility will not be available. Earlier spa service was provided through Dreamfolks membership, which has now been discontinued.
