According to the department’s Extended Range Outlook (ERO), cyclonic development has started in the North Indian Ocean on Thursday. Its effect will be seen in the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is every possibility that a new storm may be born in the middle of the Bay of Bengal between 23 and 24 October. Due to the sea surface temperature and Madden Julian Oscillation (MJO), the birth of this storm in the area seems to be getting stronger. It has already started. Cyclonic circulations are taking place.

According to the Meteorological Department, cyclonic circulation will start accumulating in the North Andaman Sea around October 20. Slowly it will move towards the coast of Odisha. It is also possible that a similar situation may develop in the Arabian Sea during this time. Cyclonic disturbance may occur there too. The time frame is also likely to be almost the same.

The Meteorological Department has forbidden fishermen and naval personnel from going into the sea.

Due to the changing weather, the Meteorological Department has advised that at that time, avoid any kind of marine activities in both the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea. Do not go fishing. The Navy has also been told to stop its work. Because whether the storm comes or not, very high waves can rise in the sea.

Instructions to local people to remain alert and keep emergency services ready

Also, it has been advised to stop tourism in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Local people have been asked to remain alert. Also, they have been asked to be prepared for any kind of emergency.
