DA Hike 2025: Central employees will get good news, there may be a huge increase in salary and pension before Holi.

Dearness Allowance (DA) Hike 2025: The increase in DA will benefit government employees as well as pensioners. This time more than 1 crore central employees and pensioners will benefit from it.

DA Hike 2025: This Holi (Holi 2025) can become even more special for the employees and pensioners of the Central Government. If the news is to be believed, they are going to get good news before Holi 2025. This year Holi is falling on March 14 and it is believed that the government can announce an increase in the dearness allowance of the Central Government Employees before Holi. This increase in DA is being done to provide relief from inflation, due to which there is a possibility of a significant increase in the salary of the employees and the pension of the pensioners.

Let us tell you that under the 7th Pay Commission, the dearness allowance (7th Pay Commission DA Hike 2025) is increased twice a year. The first increase comes into effect from January 1 and the second is effective from July 1. That is, the first increase of 2025 will be applicable from January 1, 2025 and its official announcement can be made in March 2025. However, no such announcement has been made by the government yet.

How much can the DA of employees increase?

According to employee organizations, the government can announce a 3 to 4 percent increase in the dearness allowance (DA increase 2025) of central employees and pensioners around Holi in March 2025. This means that the salary of entry-level central government employees, whose basic salary is around Rs 18,000 per month, can increase by Rs 540-720 per month from January 1, 2025.

To explain with an example, suppose if the salary of a government employee is Rs 30,000 per month and his basic salary is Rs 18,000, then he currently gets Rs 9,000 as dearness allowance i.e. DA, which is 50 percent of his basic salary. If the government increases DA by 3 percent, then the employee will now get Rs 9,540 as dearness allowance instead of Rs 9,000, i.e. an increase of Rs 540. On the other hand, if there is a 4 percent increase in DA, then the employee will get Rs 9,720.

Pensioners will also benefit

The increase in DA will benefit government employees as well as pensioners. This time more than 1 crore central employees and pensioners will benefit from it. Let us tell you that Dearness Allowance (DA) is for employees, while for pensioners it is called Dearness Relief.

How much percent was dearness allowance increased last year?

In October 2024 i.e. last year, the government increased DA by 3%, due to which it increased from 50% to 53%. At the same time, in March 2024, the government increased DA by 4%, due to which it increased to 50%.

Calculation of DA

Dearness allowance is decided on the basis of All India Consumer Price Index (AICPI). The government fixes the rates of Dearness Allowance i.e. DA (Dearness Allowance Hike) and Dearness Relief Hike keeping in mind the average AICPI data of the last 12 months.
