Government employees are continuously getting good news before the festival of colors Holi and the impending Lok Sabha elections. Various governments are increasing dearness allowance one after the other. Now a new name has been added to this list of Rajasthan government, which has given the gift of increased dearness allowance to its employees.
4 percent increase
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma’s government announced the latest increase in dearness allowance a day earlier on Thursday. The recently formed government has announced a 4-4 percent increase in dearness allowance for Rajasthan government employees and pensioners. After this announcement, now the current employees of Rajasthan Government are going to get the benefit of higher salary and former employees are going to get the benefit of higher pension.
More than 12 lakh people benefited
The decision to increase dearness allowance was approved in the meeting of Rajasthan Cabinet held on Thursday evening under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma. Announcing the DA hike after the meeting, Chief Minister Sharma said that on the lines of the Central Government, the Rajasthan Government has also decided to increase DA by 4 percent. About 8 lakh employees and 4.40 lakh pensioners of the state are going to benefit from this decision. He said that this decision is going to increase the expenditure of the state government by about Rs 1,640 crore.
Benefits will be available from January 1 onwards
Earlier, Rajasthan government employees were getting the benefit of dearness allowance at the rate of 46 percent. After the latest increase, dearness allowance has now increased to 50 percent. Pensioners get the benefit of dearness relief i.e. DA on the lines of employees. The rate of dearness relief is also generally equal to dearness allowance. Rajasthan government employees and pensioners will get the benefit of increased dearness allowance from January 1, 2024.
