In a circular issued on July 7, 2023, the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE) stated that the rate of dearness allowance payable to officers and non-unified supervisors at or below the board level of Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) has been revised to 39.2 being done. How much dearness allowance will be given on what basic salary?
- It has been said in the circular that from July 1, 2023, the dearness allowance rate will be 701.9 percent of the salary, which will be Rs 15,428, for employees with a basic salary of up to Rs 3,500 per month.
- Similarly, the dearness allowance rate for employees with basic pay between Rs 3,501 and Rs 6,500 per month will be 526.4 per cent of the pay, subject to a minimum of Rs 24,567.
- Whereas, the dearness allowance rate for employees with basic pay above Rs 6,500 and up to Rs 9,500 will be 421.1 per cent of the pay, subject to a minimum of Rs 34,216.
DA was expected to be 42 per cent
The Central Government revises the DA Rates every year in the months of January and July. The Finance Ministry has increased the dearness allowance of Central Public Sector Enterprise employees to 39.2 percent, which was expected to be increased to 42 percent. Because, other central employees get dearness allowance at the rate of 42 per cent. At the same time, the Finance Ministry may soon announce an increase in the dearness allowance for July for other central employees.
