DA Hike: After Central Government Employees, now the Yogi government of UP is also preparing to increase the Dearness Allowance (DA).
Lucknow: After the Central Government, now the Yogi Government of Uttar Pradesh is also preparing to give gifts to its employees on Diwali. Before Diwali, UP government employees and pensioners will be given the gift of increase in Dearness Allowance/Dearness Relief (DA/DR). The Finance Department of UP Government has also started its process.
Dearness allowance may increase by 4 percent
According to the information, this will benefit 12 lakh teachers-employees and 7 lakh pensioners. DA of all these employees increased by 4-4 percent. At present DA/DR is being given to state employees at the rate of 42 percent. After the increase of 4 percent, it will increase to 46 percent. Earlier in the month of May, the Uttar Pradesh government had announced to increase the rate of dearness allowance and dearness relief payable to 16.35 lakh state employees and 11 lakh pensioners by 4 percent from 38 percent to 42 percent.
Arrears and salary may come in October
After this proposal is approved by the Cabinet, the increased DA will be applicable from July 1. Employees-pensioners will also be given arrears from July 1 to September. It is being told that approval in this regard can be received soon from the Yogi government. Let us tell you that DA hike is announced twice a year by the government. The first comes into effect from January 1 every year and the second from July 1. If reports are to be believed, the increased DA of the employees will be paid along with the arrears in the salary for the month of October.
Central government has announced
It is noteworthy that on October 18, the Central Government had announced a four percent increase in the dearness allowance of central employees. After which the dearness allowance of central employees has increased from 42 percent to 46 percent.
