This is how dearness allowance is calculated
Actually, DA of central government employees is calculated on the basis of Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW), for which a fixed formula is already decided. The average CPI-IW for the last 12 months is 382.32, under which the DA will be 46.24 percent. Last time it was 42.37 percent, hence DA is expected to increase by 3.87 percent in July, 2023. Since the government does not consider decimals, it is considered certain that DA will increase by 3 percent.
