In this episode, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha announced a three percent increase in dearness allowance (DA) for state government employees from April this year. With this three percent increase in DA, Tripura government employees will get 33 percent DA.
What did the Chief Minister say
Chief Minister Manik Saha said in the Assembly, “I announce the release of three percent DA for government employees and pensioners from April 1, 2025. This will increase the DA of state government employees from 30 percent to 33 percent. For this, the government will have to bear an additional financial burden of Rs 300 crore annually.”
He said that the government wants to reduce the difference in dearness allowance between state government employees and central government employees. He said that this work will be done gradually. Earlier, states like Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra and Jharkhand have also announced an increase in the allowance of their government employees.
