DA hike on Diwali: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given a big gift to the state government employees and pensioners on the occasion of Diwali. The state government has announced a three percent increase in dearness allowance (DA) for its employees and pensioners. With this increase, DA has now increased to 53 percent. This will benefit about 17 lakh state employees and teachers of Uttar Pradesh. Let us tell you that recently the UP government had also announced Diwali bonus.
This dearness allowance announced by the UP government will come into effect from July 1. At the same time, it will be added to the salary received on October 30, 2024. Earlier recently, the central government has also increased the dearness allowance of the employees by 3 percent.
Diwali bonus also to the employees of Uttar Pradesh
Talking about Diwali bonus, employees will get Rs 6908 along with salary under this. However, only 25 per cent of the bonus amount i.e. Rs 1727 will be given in cash, while the remaining 75 per cent amount will be deposited in their General Provident Fund (GPF) accounts. The increased salary and bonus payment for this month will put an additional financial burden of Rs 1022 crore on the state government.
Employees and officials get salary hike once a year and DA hike twice. Usually, DA is increased between January to July, while salary is increased in July or January.
DA hike in Arunachal Pradesh too
The Arunachal Pradesh government has approved a 3% hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) for regular employees and pensioners. It will be effective from July 1, 2024. This increase will increase the current DA and DR rate from 50% to 53%, benefiting more than 68,818 state employees. Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein made this announcement on October 23.
