DA Hike: The decision to increase Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief will be considered effective from April 1, 2024. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has also announced to expand the scope of Yogya Shree Yojana.
DA Hike: The West Bengal government has given the gift of Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief to the state employees and pensioners after the elections. The state government has issued a notification on Tuesday and increased the DA by 4 percent. The state government has said that this decision will be considered effective from April 1, 2024. The State Finance Department issued a notification informing that earlier this decision was to be implemented from May 1. Now the increased DA will be given to the employees and pensioners along with the salary of July.
14 lakh state employees will benefit
This decision of the West Bengal government will benefit about 14 lakh employees of the state, employees of all schools, colleges and universities, employees of public sector companies and pensioners. In the year 2024, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has increased the DA twice. Earlier the state government had increased the DA in January. After this, an increase in DA was announced during the budget in February. With this, the state employees will now start getting 14 percent DA.

Mamata Banerjee called the Yogyashree scheme a success
On the other hand, Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday praised the Yogyashree scheme on the social media platform X and wrote that we started it to provide free training to SC/ST students of the state for admission in engineering and medical courses. This has benefited our students a lot. Now boys and girls of minority, OBC and general category will also be included in this scheme. She wrote that with the help of Yogyashree scheme, she got 23 ranks in JEE (Advanced) in the year 2024 (including 13 IIT seats), 75 ranks in JEE (Main), 432 ranks in WBJEE and 110 ranks in NEET.
