DA Hike Updates: A big good news is going to come for the central employees this month. The central government is going to announce an increase in dearness allowance (DA) this month, which will increase the salary of lakhs of employees. Every year between July and September, the employees working under the central government wait for the increase in DA, and this time too they are expected to get relief. The wait for the government’s announcement may end after the cabinet meeting to be held on September 25.
When will the DA hike be announced?
According to media reports, there is a possibility of a 3% increase in dearness allowance. Its basis is the data of AICPI IW index from January to June 2024. In June, the index increased by 1.5 points, after which it was decided that the employees will get 3% increased DA from July 2024. After this increase, dearness allowance will become 53%. It is believed that this issue has been included in the agenda of the cabinet meeting to be held on 25 September.
How much will the salary increase?
A 3% increase in dearness allowance will also directly increase the salary of the employees. This increase will provide relief to lakhs of central government employees, especially in times of rising inflation.
How much was DA increased in January 2024?
Earlier in January 2024, the central government had increased the DA of central employees by 4%, taking the dearness allowance to 50%. At that time also employees and pensioners got a lot of relief. The increase in DA / DR usually comes into effect from January 1 and July 1, but it is announced later. Therefore, employees and pensioners will also be given arrears of the previous period.
