DA Hike News: The Union Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi today announced an increase in dearness allowance. Dearness allowance for government employees has been increased by 2 percent.

DA Hike News: The Union Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced an increase in dearness allowance today. Dearness allowance for government employees has been increased by 2 percent. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said in a press conference after the meeting that government employees will now get 55 percent dearness allowance, up from 53 percent.

DA increased by 2 percent

Vaishnav said, “The government has taken an important decision under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The government has approved a 2% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) for central employees and pensioners. This increase will be effective from January 1, 2025 and now the total dearness allowance will increase from 53% to 55%.”

66 lakh pensioners will get benefit

This decision will benefit about 48.66 lakh central employees and 66.55 lakh pensioners. This will put an additional burden of Rs 6614.04 crore on the government every year. This increase has been made as per the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission.

How much will the salary increase due to DA Hike?

If the basic salary of an employee is Rs 50,000, then after an increase of 2%, his DA will increase like this
