DA Hike Order Issued: Government’s gift to employees, 4% increase in DA, they will get benefits

DA Hike Alert: Karnataka government has given a big gift to government employees and pensioners. The state government has announced to increase Dearness Allowance for employees and pensioners. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah increased the dearness allowance of government employees and pensioners from 31% to 35% from January 1, 2023.

Which employees will benefit

The Karnataka government has issued a notification increasing the Dearness Allowance (DA) from 31% to 35%, giving a big gift to its employees and pensioners. These will be applicable to full time Government employees, employees of District Panchayats, work charged employees on regular time scale of pay and full time employees of aided educational institutions and universities who are on regular time scale of pay.

It has been said in the order that the arrears of dearness allowance will not be paid before the date of disbursement of salary for the month of May 2023. At present, central employees are getting dearness allowance at the rate of 42 per cent. Earlier, giving a big gift to its employees, the Gujarat government has directly increased the dearness allowance of its employees by 8 percent.

According to the Gujarat government, the DA Hike of 8 percent will be implemented in two parts. The first will be applicable from July 1, 2022, it has been increased by 4 percent. At the same time, the second 4 percent will be implemented from January 1, 2023. The total benefit of 8 percent will be credited along with their salary.
