A big decision can be taken in the PM Narendra Modi cabinet meeting regarding increasing the dearness allowance of central employees. It is expected that the government can give a Diwali gift with a 3% DA hike.
In the festive season, the Narendra Modi government (PM Modi Govt) of the Center is preparing to give a big gift to the central employees. According to the update that has come out from the sources, the Center can give Diwali gift to the employees by increasing the dearness allowance (DA Hike). The government can increase the DA by 3 percent this time and if this happens, then the DA given to the employees will increase to 53 percent.
DA of employees will increase to 53%!
Central employees are currently getting 50 percent DA and before Diwali, the government seems to be in the mood to increase it by 3 percent. This news has come to the fore quoting government sources. If this happens, then the DA will become 53% and it will be applicable from July 1, 2024. Meaning, the Diwali of central employees will become even brighter and a bumper increase will be seen in their salary. According to sources, a decision on this can be taken in the cabinet meeting today on Wednesday. Earlier there was an increase in March
Usually the central government revises the DA of employees in January and July. Earlier on March 24, 2024, the central employees were given the gift of 4% DA Hike. With this increase, the dearness allowance they received was increased from 46% to 50%. It is worth noting that there were already signs of DA Hike. Recently, in a report, a senior official of the Confederation of Central Government Employees and Workers was quoted as saying that there would be an increase in DA in the next cabinet meeting. We are expecting an increase of at least 3%.
Calculation of salary of employees
Now let’s talk about how much the salary of employees will increase if the government increases the dearness allowance by 3 percent. So according to the calculation, if the basic salary of an employee is Rs 55,200, then at present his dearness allowance at 50% is Rs 27,600. On the other hand, if the DA becomes 53 percent, then his dearness allowance will increase to Rs 29,256. That is, the salary of the employees will increase by Rs 29,256 – Rs 27,600 = Rs 1,656.
Let us tell you here that the calculation of DA given to the employees is related to the All India Consumer Price Index (AICPI), which tracks retail inflation over the past 12 months. With the inflation pressure and rising costs of the world, this decision is important for the management of household budgets across the country.
