At the same time, he also got the gift of bonus and arrears. But, now another update can double their happiness. Actually, after Diwali, now central government employees will get big gifts in the new year. The beginning of the new year will be explosive for them. There is every expectation of a huge increase in salary.
There will be a rise in dearness allowance once again
First of all, the central employees will get the gift of increase in dearness allowance. It has started from July. AICPI index numbers for July, August and September have arrived. The figures for October, November and December are yet to come. There has been an increase of 2.50 percent so far. The current DA rate is 46 percent, but if we look at the AICPI index data, the dearness allowance (DA hike) has reached 48.54 percent. The index is currently at 137.5 points. In such a situation, the next rise may be of 4-5 percent.
Travel allowance will increase
The second gift will be in the form of travel allowance. With the increase in DA, there is a possibility of increase in Travel Allowance (TA) also. In such a situation, by combining travel allowance with pay band, the increase in DA can be even higher. Travel allowance is linked to different pay bands. In higher TPTA cities, travel allowance for Grade 1 to 2 is Rs 1800 and Rs 1900. Grade 3 to 8 gets Rs 3600 + DA. Whereas, for other places this rate is Rs 1800 + DA.
There will be revision in HRA
The third and biggest gift will be received in the form of HRA- House Rent Allowance. Revision in this also is to happen next year. The next rate of revision in HRA will be 3 percent. Actually, according to the rules, it will be revised if the dearness allowance crosses 50 percent. At present HRA is given at the rate of 27, 24, 18 percent. It is divided into categories Z, Y, X of cities. If dearness allowance will be 50 percent then HRA will also increase to 30, 27, 21 percent.
When will we get these 3 gifts?
Increase in dearness allowance, increase in travel allowance and HRA revision for central employees, all three are expected by March next year. Usually, the government announces the dearness allowance applicable from January in March. In such a situation, it will be decided only in March 2024 whether dearness allowance reaches 50 percent or not. If this is achieved then HRA will also increase by 3 percent. At the same time, travel can also be increased according to the grade.
