According to the new update of EPFO, the deadline for UAN Aadhaar linking for PF members coming under the establishment of North Eastern regions has been extended till 31 December 2021, for which EPFO has also issued a circular on 11 September 2021.

But you also need to know that this deadline has not been extended for all PF members and establishments, only for some areas, the deadline for linking Aadhaar UAN has been extended till December 31, 2021.
For whom the deadline for linking Aadhaar UAN has been extended
According to the EPFO circular, the deadline for linking Aadhaar with UAN for establishments and PF members in the North Eastern region such as Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura region has been extended till December 31, 2021. Apart from this, establishments of some plantation industries (such as tea, coffee, card wax, pepper, jute, rubber, cinchona, cashew etc.) along with beedi industry, building and construction have also been given relief in the deadline for linking UAN with Aadhaar. and this deadline has been extended till 31st December 2021.
No relief in deadline for everyone else
No relaxation has been given in the deadline for linking Aadhaar with UAN for establishments and employees in areas other than those mentioned above, which means those whose Aadhaar is not linked with UAN will not be able to submit their contribution and its For this the employers will have to fill the damages.

The deadline for linking UAN with Aadhaar has been extended for the above mentioned areas till December 31, 2021, which means that the PF members of these areas will be able to deposit their PF contribution even if their Aadhaar is not linked with their UAN account.
