Delhi Weather Update The weather pattern has changed in Delhi-NCR on Saturday morning due to torrential rains along with strong wind. Flight operations have also been affected due to low visibility due to inclement weather.
Flight disrupted due to heavy rain and adverse weather conditions at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. Airport officials advised passengers to keep in touch with their respective airlines for the latest updates on flight information.
Operational meteorologist, Navdeep Dahiya said, “Wind speed of 102 km/h at the airport, flights were seen all around and none was able to land.”

India Meteorological Department said that a group of clouds is passing through Delhi-NCR. Under its influence, light to moderate rain and gusty winds with a speed of 40-70 kmph would occur over Delhi-NCR and adjoining areas during the next two hours with thunderstorms, dust storm.

“Due to inclement weather, flight operations at Delhi airport have been affected. It is advised to contact respective airlines for updated flight information,” the Delhi airport said in a statement on Saturday.
Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 34.5 degrees Celsius on Friday, five degrees below normal. In contrast, parts of Delhi-NCR witnessed heavy rain, thunderstorm and strong winds on Saturday morning.
According to the IMD, Delhi recorded 2 mm of rain from 8:30 am on Thursday to 8:30 am on Friday. The relative humidity was recorded at 67 per cent at 8:30 am. The SAFAR data indicated that the city’s air quality index (AQI) was recorded at 75 around 9 am, which falls in the satisfactory category.
The AQI scale defines levels between 0 and 50 as “good”, 51 and 100 as “satisfactory”, 101 and 200 as “moderate”, 201 and 300 as “poor”, 301 and 400 as “very poor”, and 401 and over as “poor”. classifies as a 401. 500 as “serious”.
