Passengers at Delhi airport faced a lot of trouble due to delay in flights. Not only this, according to the passengers, the airport staff were also unable to give them the correct information about their flights. Know what is the whole matter?
Problems like flight delays due to weather keep coming up every day at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI). Once again, IGI Airport has become a cause of trouble for passengers.
Actually, maintenance of one of the four runways (28/10) of the airport is going on. This repair work started on April 9 and will continue till July. The runway has been closed for this four-month repair work. Due to this, about 200 flights are operating less at the airport every day, due to which the timing of flights has deteriorated and passengers have to wait for a long time.
Passengers’ anger erupted
Expressing their anger on social media, passengers said that the airlines are neither giving correct information nor the staff is aware. Small protests even took place at many gates. Allegations were made against Air India that the number of their staff is less and they are not able to handle the passengers properly.
One user wrote, “Situation at @DelhiAirport is very confusing and chaotic. Flight delays are common but the lack of any accurate information is shocking. @airindia is understaffed and unable to give accurate timings or even locations of flights. Small protests at several gates. Staff is helpless and clueless.”
