Once again, a big political development is being witnessed in Delhi. The reason is that PWD has sealed the Chief Minister’s residence at 6 Flag Staff Road. The department has put a double lock on its gate. This government residence was vacated after Arvind Kejriwal resigned from the post of CM. Atishi shifted to it after becoming the CM. There is a dispute regarding vacating the residence and handover, after which PWD has taken action.
Apart from this, a show cause notice has been issued to two section officers of PWD in the Vigilance Department of Delhi and Arvind Kejriwal’s former special secretary to take over the house in a proper manner.
Shortly before this, the Aam Aadmi Party had alleged that disregarding the protocol, the officials are not allocating the bungalow at 6, Flagstaff Road to Delhi Chief Minister Atishi due to pressure from the BJP, while her predecessor Arvind Kejriwal has vacated it. At the same time, Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta accused the Chief Minister of illegal occupation of the bungalow and demanded that it be sealed.
Let us tell you that Atishi shifted to a bungalow located in Civil Lines area of North Delhi with her belongings on Monday. Arvind Kejriwal was living in this bungalow with his family for more than 9 years. He vacated it after resigning from the post of Chief Minister.
On Wednesday, Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh alleged in a press conference that the bungalow has not yet been allotted to Atishi and accused the BJP of trying to usurp the bungalow. He also claimed that the Chief Minister’s camp office located in the bungalow premises has been vacated. Showing documents, Singh claimed that Kejriwal has vacated the bungalow properly.
