Delhi Schools Non-Plan Admission 2024: The registration process is going to start from 8th April. Only parents/children residing in the capital are eligible to apply.
The Directorate of Education (DoE), Delhi has announced the schedule for non-plan admission in classes 6 to 9 for the academic session 2024-25. The registration process is going to start from 8th April. Students seeking admission are required to register themselves on the official website. According to DOE, “Students currently studying under NSO in Government/Government-aided schools are required to contact the school in which they were studying for further assistance regarding their transfer/re-admission”.

Cycle II: 15 May to 15 June
Cycle III: July 7 to July 31
Display of schools allotted to registered applicants:
Cycle I: 29 April
Cycle II: 27 June
Cycle III: 12 August
Submission/verification of documents for admission in allotted schools:
Cycle I: 30 April to 10 May
Cycle II: June 28 to July 6
Cycle III: August 13 to August 31
Parents of children seeking admission in government schools are required to register the details of their children online as per the above schedule. The link to submit online registration form is available on the home page of the department’s website www.edudel.nic.in under the link “Government School Admission”.
For admission to Class 6, applicants declared passed/promoted in Class 5 will be registered online, while out-of-school children will be registered in any school near their residence. Parents of children who have not gone to school and are in the age group of 10-12 years can register their children in any nearby school for assessment of basic literacy and numeracy. The admission class of the child will be finalized after the assessment.
Only parents/children residing in Delhi are eligible to apply under Non-Plan admission.
Applicants must provide the following details while filling the online registration form:
- Personal details like name, father’s name, mother’s name, residential address and last school details (if any).
- Aadhaar number/UID of the child.
- Bank account number of the child along with the name of the bank branch and its IFSC.
- Child’s date of birth.
- Parents’ mobile number.
Applicants have to carefully select the government schools nearest to their place of residence, as seats will be allotted based on the place of residence of the applicant. Parents can either take a printout of the registration form after final submission or note down the registration number generated online for future reference, which will also be sent through SMS on the registered mobile number.
Age criteria for admission in class 6 to 9
Class 6 – Completed 10 years of age but less than 12 years
Class 7 – 11 years of age but less than 13 years
Class 8 – Completed 12 years of age but less than 14 years of age
Class 9 – Completed 13 years of age but less than 15 years
However, regular students who have passed their previous class from any recognized unaided school of the Directorate of Education, Delhi or local bodies during 2023-24 and have valid SLC and marksheet are exempted from the applicability of age-appropriate criteria. will be given.
Age relaxation of six months, both maximum and minimum, is also allowed at the level of Heads of Schools (HoS), but parents will have to apply to the concerned HoS for age relaxation.
