Delhi Metro news: DMRC’s official statement has also come on this. DMRC has said that as per the provisions of Airport Express Line, carrying two sealed bottles of liquor per person is now allowed in Delhi Metro.
Delhi: Passengers traveling in Delhi Metro will now be able to take liquor bottles with them. The committee of CISF and Metro officers has taken a decision regarding this. Till now, it was allowed to carry liquor bottle only on the airport line of the metro. Now, the new order will have this facility for passengers on all metro lines.
It is being told that passengers will be able to take liquor bottles with them. But, the liquor bottles should be completely sealed i.e. packed. DMRC has also given its official statement on this. DMRC officials have said that this facility was already being given to the passengers on the Airport Express Line. To implement the new order, a committee of CISF and DMRC officials reviewed the earlier order.
As per the earlier order, carrying liquor in the Delhi Metro was banned except on the Airport Express Line. However, drinking alcohol inside the Metro premises is still strictly prohibited. DMRC has said that metro passengers are requested to maintain proper etiquette while traveling. If any passenger is found misbehaving under the influence of alcohol, appropriate action will be taken under the provisions of the law.
