Amid rising air pollution in Delhi NCR, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC) has made a big announcement. DMRC has now announced 40 additional trips of Delhi Metro. New Delhi. Due to increasing air pollution in the capital, the provision of Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP)-2 has come into effect. Due to this, now the number of metro trips will also increase in Delhi.
That is why the metro will make 40 additional trips per day. So that people can use metro and public transport more for commuting. So that the pressure of vehicles on the roads can be reduced.
It will help in controlling air pollution
It is worth mentioning that the smoke emitted from vehicles has a high share in Delhi’s air pollution. Pollution also spreads due to traffic jams caused by the pressure of vehicles on the roads. In view of this, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has given instructions to increase the number of metro trips.
So that people can leave their personal vehicles and use the metro as much as possible for travel. Currently, the metro makes 4200 trips per day. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC) had said recently that after the implementation of GRAP-2, the metro will make 40 additional trips per day. Under this, this system will be started soon.

Big decision for relief to the public
The second phase of GRAP has come into effect in Delhi from today i.e. 22 October. Along with this, while some restrictions have increased on the people, the number of metro trips have also been increased to give relief to the public and discourage the use of private vehicles.
If the number of metro trips is less, people will face problems and they will have to wait for hours for their turn by standing in long queues. These problems can be avoided by increasing the number of metro trips.
Not only pollution, DMRC had also appealed to the people to use the metro to avoid traffic jams during festivals.
40 trips will increase in GRAP-2
According to DMRC, the metro makes about 4200 trips daily. When the restrictions of GRAP 2 are implemented, the metro will make 40 additional trips per day. The restrictions of GRAP 2 have come into effect when the air index reaches more than 300 in the very poor category.
Metro will make a total of 60 more trips
This way, Metro will make 40 more trips on every working day. Let us tell you that Metro is already making 20 more trips due to the implementation of Grape-1. In such a situation, now Metro will make a total of 60 more trips.
