DMRC said in a statement that Delhi Metro will introduce 40 additional trips on weekdays (Monday-Friday) on its network from today (Wednesday), October 25. This scheme has been made to increase the use of public transport among the passengers in Delhi-NCR.
With the increase in pollution in Delhi, various types of restrictions have started being imposed under the Graded Response Action Plan. In this context, DMRC said on Tuesday that Delhi Metro has decided to increase 40 additional trips on week days i.e. from Monday to Friday from October 25.
The move comes days after the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP)-II was implemented to tackle pollution in the national capital. DMRC said in a statement that Delhi Metro will introduce 40 additional trips on weekdays (Monday-Friday) on its network from Wednesday. This scheme has been made to increase the use of public transport among the passengers in Delhi-NCR.
As part of the various measures being adopted by the Delhi government to combat pollution under GRAP-II stage, DMRC will run 40 additional train trips on weekdays (Mon-Fri) across its network starting Wednesday i.e, 25.10.2023.

DMRC said that usually Delhi Metro makes more than 4,300 trips every day, in which 40 trips will be increased from today. Let us tell you that there is a continuous increase in pollution in Delhi. When the first worst weather of the season arrived on Monday, many decisions were taken to reduce pollution in Delhi.
The second phase of GRAP has been implemented in Delhi. At the same time, a proposal to increase the parking fees of MCD is also being brought. This will be presented in the Delhi Municipal Corporation meeting to be held on October 27. However, the amount of increase has not been disclosed yet.
