Delhi Weather: Due to clear sky the temperature has started increasing in Delhi. The scorching heat during the day has made it difficult for people to step out of their homes. On Tuesday, the capital’s maximum temperature was recorded at 42 degrees Celsius, which is the highest this summer season. India Meteorological Department (IMD) gave this information. Earlier, May 6 was the hottest day, when the maximum temperature was recorded at 41.1 degrees Celsius. Dry conditions led to dusty winds in Delhi, causing the air quality to fall into the ‘very poor’ category.
Dusty winds blew at a speed of 10-15 kilometers per hour throughout the day in Delhi-NCR on Tuesday. According to the Meteorological Department, there is no possibility of relief for the next three days. During this period, the maximum temperature will remain above 41 degrees Celsius and similar dusty conditions are expected to continue. Kuldeep Srivastava, scientist and head of the Regional Weather Forecasting Centre, told PTI that as per the weekly forecast, the temperature will hover around 42 degrees Celsius, resulting in heatwave (heatwave) conditions not being imposed in the capital.
When will we get relief?
The meteorologist said that the weather will remain the same as last year and there is a possibility of light drizzle on May 11 and 12. According to the Meteorological Department, during the second week of May in the year 2023, a temperature of 42 degrees Celsius was recorded in the capital and there was no heatwave in the last summer season. The relative humidity during the day on Tuesday was between 24 to 71 percent. The Meteorological Department has predicted partly cloudy sky on Wednesday and the maximum and minimum temperatures will be 41 and 24 degrees Celsius respectively.
Strong winds will blow
Srivastava said that eastern winds have now started blowing towards Delhi, which brings some moisture with it. It is believed that the maximum temperature may fall to 41 degrees Celsius on Wednesday and Thursday, but there is no much relief. IMD says that due to western disturbance, there may be a slight drop in the maximum temperature of Delhi around May 12. There may also be light rain and the sky may be cloudy. Srivastava said, ‘May 11 and 12 may be cloudy, light rain is expected and strong winds may blow at a speed of 25-35 km/hour. Due to this, the maximum temperature may drop to about 40 degrees Celsius.
