What is Digital Life Certificate?

Digital Life Certificate (Jeevan Pramaan Patra) is a biometric-enabled digital service for pensioners. Pensioners of the Central or State Government, Employees Provident Fund Organization or any other government organization whose pension disbursing agency is active for DLC can avail this facility.

Who is issuing?

At present India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) is issuing Digital Life Certificate. For this, the bank has joined hands with the National Informatics Center or NIC of the Government of India. Actually, DLC is being issued on the application of NIC.

How to get Digital Jeevan Pramaan?

If the pensioner has time or is able, then reach any post office. If you cannot do this, then avail these services at the doorstep through your postman / rural postal servant. Provide basic information related to your pension account to the postman, he will help in generating your digital life certificate.

What documents are required to issue DLC?

If you want digital life certificate, then you must have the original copy of pension payment order or pension payment order. Also, bank account details, mobile number, Aadhaar number should also be there.

What information will have to be given to get DLC?

The pensioner has to provide Aadhaar number, name, mobile number and self-declared pension related information like PPO number, pension account number, bank details, PSA, PDA name etc. The pensioner will also have to give his biometrics, either iris or fingerprint. Currently, only the fingerprint option is live through IPPB.

Will I have to pay any fee?

You will have to pay a small fee of just Rs 70 to get a Jeevan Pramaan Patra made at home. This includes service tax as well.

After the DLC is made, do I have to go to the bank or post office and deposit it?

Pensioners often ask whether they need to deposit the Jeevan Pramaan Patra or DLC in their bank/post office etc. after getting the DLC made? The answer is no. The pensioner does not need to deposit the DLC in the bank/post office/PDA. The DLC will automatically be available to them electronically.
