Salary Update: Good News! Employees of this state will get salary before time, order issued

Diwali Bonus: This bonus will be given to those employees who have been in service till 31 March 2024 and have worked for at least 6 months during the year 2023-24.

Government Employees Diwali Bonus: There is good news for central employees. The Modi government at the Center has given the gift of Diwali bonus to the employees before the announcement of dearness allowance hike. The Finance Ministry has announced non-productivity linked bonus (ad hoc bonus) for central employees for the financial year 2023-24. Under this, employees of Group B and Group C category will get money equivalent to 30 days’ salary.

The order issued by the Department of Expenditure of the Finance Ministry states that the eligible employees include non-gazetted employees of Group ‘C’ and Group ‘B’, who are not part of any productivity-linked bonus scheme. The maximum monthly salary used for calculating the bonus has been fixed at Rs 7,000.

These employees will get the benefit

Eligible employees of Central Paramilitary Forces and Armed Forces will also get the benefit of this. Also, this bonus will be given to those employees who have been in service till 31 March 2024 and have worked for at least 6 months during the year 2023-24. In other words, those personnel who have retired or died before 31 March on medical grounds in an invalid manner, but have done regular duty for six months in the financial year, will be considered eligible for adhoc bonus. All payments will be rounded to the nearest rupee and the expenses will be covered by the concerned ministries and departments within their approved budget.

This is how the bonus will be calculated

A rule has been made to determine the amount given under the adhoc bonus. The bonus amount will be calculated by dividing the average emoluments by 30.4, then multiplying it by 30 days. For example, if an employee’s monthly salary is Rs 7,000, their bonus will be approximately (7000 x 30/30.4 + Rs 6907.89/-) Rs 6,908. Casual laborers who work at least 240 days in a year for three consecutive years will also be eligible for this bonus, which will be calculated on the basis of Rs 1,200 per month. This decision will benefit millions of central government employees.
