PVC DL: The Indian Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has simplified the process of converting old driving license (DL) into waterproof PVC card. Now, you can convert your old DL into waterproof PVC card by applying online from home.
Follow the following steps to apply online:
- Visit the official website of the Indian Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
- Click on “Online Driving License Services” tab.
- Click on “Renewal of Driving License” option.
- Enter your old DL number and date of birth.
- Click on the “Continue” button.
- Enter your personal details and contact information.
- Upload your passport size photograph.
- Upload your signature.
- Pay the application fee.
- Click on “Submit Application” button.
Application fee
To convert old DL into waterproof PVC card, you will have to pay an application fee of ₹ 100. You can pay the application fee through online or offline mode.
Check Application Status
To check the status of your application, you can visit the official website of the Indian Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. Click on the “Online Driving License Services” tab and then click on the “Application Status” option. Enter your application number and date of birth and then click on “Continue” button. Your application status will be visible.
Get new DL
Your new DL will be sent to the address provided by you. It usually takes 10 to 15 days to receive it.
Following documents are required to apply offline:
- Old dl
- Passport size photograph
- Signature
- Application Fee (₹100)
- You can also convert your old DL into waterproof PVC card by visiting your nearest RTO office.
Pay attention:
- You can convert it into a waterproof PVC card only if your old DL is still valid.
- If your old DL is damaged or lost, you will have to apply to get a new DL.
