After the implementation of the new rule, there is going to be relief from the long and complicated process of making DL. Currently, to get a DL made, one has to visit offices and fill a lot of forms. Many times mistakes are made in this process.

The process of making DL will become much easier.

To remove the problems faced in making DL, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has announced changes in the existing rules related to driving license. After the implementation of the new rules, the process of getting a driving license is expected to become much easier. Let us know what will change in the DL rules from June 1 and what changes have been made by the department?

Driving test will not be conducted in government offices

The rules related to driving license have been changed by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. According to the rules coming into effect from June 1, it is no longer necessary to give driving test in government offices. Now you can go to any private driving school and give a driving test. These schools will be authorized to take tests and give necessary certificates to get the license.

Less paper hassle!

Now less documents will be required to get a driving license. You have to bring papers only as per the vehicle you want to learn to drive (two-wheeler or four-wheeler). This will reduce the need to visit the RTO office.

Focus on environment

The purpose of the new rules of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is to reduce pollution. For this, the government is going to remove 9 lakh old government vehicles and strict rules will be implemented for the smoke coming out of the vehicles. For crossing the speed limit, a fine between Rs 1000 to Rs 2000 will be imposed. If minors are caught driving, a fine of Rs 25,000 will be imposed and the registration of their vehicle will be cancelled. Not only this, they will not be able to get a license until they turn 25.

Important rules for driving school

The driving school should have at least 1 acre of land. Apart from this, there is a need to have 2 acres of land for training of four wheelers. There should be proper arrangements for taking driving test in the school. The person giving driving training (trainer) should have 10th class certificate and five years of driving experience. He should also have knowledge of biometrics and running IT systems.

Time to learn to drive

29 hours of training for Small Vehicles (LMV) in 4 weeks, which includes 8 hours of theory and 21 hours of practical driving training. Whereas for big vehicles (HMV), it includes 38 hours of training in 6 weeks and 8 hours of theory and 31 hours of practical training for driving. The new rules have been made to ensure that new drivers who learn driving in private driving schools get good training and can drive safely on the road.

How to apply

The application process will remain the same. You can apply online or offline through https://parivahan.gov.in/. The application fee varies depending on the type of license. It is still necessary to visit the RTO office to submit documents and demonstrate driving skills to get the license approved.
