Umashankar said that some DL and Vehicle Registration Certificates (RC) on Sarathi and Vahan database may be from the 1960s and 70s, and 1980s and 90s. The old database does not have mobile and Aadhaar numbers. The correct address may also not be there, which means that we need to think of some points where it is necessary for vehicle owners or license holders to update their details.
He said that this will help the government know which person to contact and where. If a person’s e-challan fine is not paid on time, his DL or RC can be cancelled. Also, his insurance can also become expensive.
