Instructions to ban the entry of offensive goods, many CCTV cameras on the premises are defective
In-charge DM cum Additional Collector Naushal Ahmed, SP Hari Prasath S raided the jail for two hours on Wednesday morning. He was accompanied by a convoy of police and administrative officers along with dozens of security personnel. Three mobile phones without battery-SIM and some khaini shabby were recovered from the jail in the raid.
The raids stirred up the prisoners. Officers found several CCTV cameras in the premises to be defective during the inspection. Who was instructed to fix it without any delay. Officials told the jail administration to strictly prohibit the entry of offensive goods. There was a raid in the jail from 5:30 to 7:30 in the morning.
A mobile ward number was found from 18 and other premises. All were in unclaimed condition. The DM in charge instructed the civil surgeon to ensure regular attendance of doctors and personnel as per the roster prescribed for regular health check-up and treatment.
Authorities also directed to provide resources for creative work along with library, sports and entertainment for corrective action of prisoners. The SDO, DSP and other police and administrative officers were present during the operation.
The officials expressed their displeasure when they received a mobile phone from the jail. The order to strictly prohibit the entry of offensive goods was given to the jail administration. Offensive goods have also been found in the past.
