Domestic Airlines Latest Update! New terms and conditions for domestic flights from today, must know before leaving for travel

Domestic Airlines: The Union Ministry of Civil Aviation has allowed domestic flights to fly with 100% capacity from 18 October i.e. today. But terms and conditions are applicable for this.

New Delhi: Domestic Airlines Latest News: Amidst the festive season, the government has taken a big decision. The Union Ministry of Civil Aviation has allowed domestic flights to fly with 100 percent capacity. After the Coronavirus, domestic flights, which have been flying at 80 percent capacity for a long time, will now be able to fly with 100% capacity from today i.e. 18 October.

Ministry issued circular

The ministry has issued a circular in this regard. According to this circular, it has been announced to remove restrictions on the ability to operate in domestic flights. That is, now passengers will be able to travel on the full seat as before. While the airlines will benefit from this announcement made in the festive season, passengers will now get convenience in traveling during the festival.

These restrictions will remain in force

However, this order also states that apart from strictly following the Kovid-19 protocol, some other restrictions like minimum and maximum fare caps on domestic flights will remain in force. Along with this, neither food will be served nor sold in a travel time of less than 2 hours. Let us tell you that since the start of the second Kovid wave, food service and its sale is not allowed on domestic flights of less than 2 hours duration.

Domestic flight started after lockdown

Significantly, after being closed for two months due to the Kovid-19 lockdown, domestic passenger flights were resumed from May 25. The government had resumed scheduled domestic flights from 25 May 2020 after a gap of two months. At that time, the ministry did not allow airlines to operate more than 33 percent of their domestic services pre-Covid-19. By December 2020, it was gradually increased to 80 percent.

International passenger flights suspended

Significantly, due to the global pandemic Corona virus, international passenger flights in India are suspended since 23 March 2020. However, India has allowed special flights under an ‘air bubble’ arrangement with around 28 countries. Under the system of air bubbles, airlines of one country are allowed to operate limited international passenger flights in the territory of the other with specific restrictions.
