Gunfire at Donald Trump’s rally: Former US President Donald Trump has been attacked in an election rally. Trump was shot, in which he was injured. He was immediately taken to the hospital. An assassination attempt was made on him just a day before the Republican Party was about to begin its convention to formally declare him as its candidate for the White House.

Trump fell to the ground after being shot. Secret Service agents surrounded Trump to protect him, and then took him inside. The former president was bleeding from the right side of his face. When he was being taken away, he raised his hands in the air. He was taken to a local medical facility for treatment.

The shooter was shot dead at the same time. Local officials said the shooter was hiding in a building outside the rally site. One of the people who came to the rally died. Another person was seriously injured.

President Biden spoke to Trump

President Joe Biden said in his message to the nation that he tried to talk to Trump — for the first time Biden publicly addressed Trump as “Donald”.

He said, “I will try to talk to him soon.” He further said, “There is no place for this kind of violence in America. It is very disgusting. The rally should have been held peacefully without any problems.”

Biden did not say anything about whether it was an assassination attempt. He said that he would wait until full information came. Secret Service communications chief Anthony Guglielmi said in a statement, “The former president is safe.” Trump communications director Steven Cheung said in a statement, “Former President Trump is fine and is being examined at a local medical facility.”
