New Delhi: Driving License Rules 2021: In this digital age of 2021, every work has started going online. Today’s mentality is such that on leaving the house, a person will forget the purse, but the mobile should be with him. Smartphones have started being used even for payment. In such a situation, there is confusion among many people about whether the photo of driving license can work while driving or not? Will the driver have to carry the hard copy with him at all times? You will get the answer of some of these questions in this news.
Digital license also valid!
According to the new Motor Vehicle Rules of the Central Government, now you can keep the license with you in a digital way too. The Kejriwal government of Delhi had asked the drivers to carry RC and even license in digital form with them.
Photos will not work!
You will be able to keep the license in digital form, but it cannot be kept by taking photographs. To keep it in digital form, you have to keep the documents with you in Digi Locker or M-Parivahan app. Driving license kept by taking photograph in your mobile will not be valid. The Delhi government had also amended its rules and instructed to keep the license and other documents in the DigiLocker or m-Parivahan app.
In some states of the country, different rules have been made regarding this, while some state governments have given recognition to digital documents.
In some crimes the rule is different!
It was told by the police department that even in the states where digital documents are allowed, in case of some crimes, the driver will have to submit the hard copy of the driving license to the department. Hard copy is required in cases like seizing the vehicle. Whereas in normal cases ‘Digi Locker’ gets the job done.
